Dyslexia Evaluation

Early identification and intervention is crucial to student’s success in school. This brief screener will look at the areas of challenge that are most commonly found in children with dyslexia. It will also provide important information for subsequent steps. This process allows for a brief administration of assessments to investigate the child’s difficulties with reading. Test

The screening process will include:

  • Completion of a detailed developmental history that addresses academic, physical, and social development.
  • Review of all school reports, previous evaluations and other pertinent data regarding the individual’s academic, medical, and social development.
  • Administration of a formal screener consisting of an individually administered battery of tests designed to investigate areas associated with reading difficulty and Dyslexia.
  • A feedback session to discuss the results of the screener.
  • A detailed, written report that includes recommendations will be provided to share with relevant individuals.

Dyslexia Evaluation

A diagnosis of Dyslexia allows for the identification of appropriate interventions and accommodations for students who struggle with aspects of reading. This evaluation will investigate specific skill areas that research suggests are most commonly identified in individuals with Dyslexia.

The evaluation process will contain:

  • A detailed developmental history that addresses academic, physical, and social development.
  • A thorough review of all school reports, previous evaluations and other pertinent data regarding the individual’s academic, medical, and social development.
  • A formal evaluation consisting of an individually administered battery of tests designed to investigate areas associated with Dyslexia and reading difficulty.
  • Relevant behavior rating scales (when applicable)
  • A feedback session to discuss the results of the evaluation.
  • A detailed, written report with pertinent recommendations will be provided to share with relevant individuals.
